In March Cadbury announced it was going to produce a Cadbury Dairy Milk bar with the Fairtrade Foundation Logo by the end of July. They have met that commitment. Producing Fairtrade certified Dairy Milk builds

David welcomed plans to spend more UK overseas aid on helping poor people in states affected by conflict. The new policy was unveiled in a White Paper published by International Development Secretary, Douglas Alexander on the 6th July.

On the 24 June the Fairtrade Foundation announced the first cosmetic products to carry the Fairtrade Mark in the UK. 31% of people in the UK said they are interested in buying cosmetics carrying the Fairtrade Mark. People will be able to buy 57 products with Fairtrade certified ingredients, including lip balms, face masks, body butters and shower gels.

David met Douglas Alexander, the International Development Secretary in Parliament this week to discuss progress in the global fight against HIV and AIDS. Ahead of World AIDS Day on December 1st, David urged Douglas to maintain the UK’s global leadership on this issue.
